Model-Driven Migration of Scientific Legacy Systems to Service-Oriented Architectures

چکیده
We propose a model-driven and generative approach to specify and generate web services for migrating scientific legacy systems to service-oriented platforms. From a model specification of the system migration, we use code generation to generate web services and automate the legacy integration. We use a case study from an existing oil spill analysis application developed in Fortran and C++ to show the feasibility of the approach. Keywords-Model-driven engineering, legacy migration, web services

An Integrated Tool Suite for Model-Driven Software Migration towards Service-Oriented Architectures
Model-driven approaches as well as migration projects rely on a strong tool support. As part of the SOAMIG project, a tool suite has been developed, supporting the model-driven migration of legacy Java and COBOL systems towards Service-oriented Architectures (SOAs). The tool suite integrates a global repository (representing business processes, code and architecture) and capabilities for (i) pa...
متن کاملModel-Driven Software Migration
In this paper we propose model-driven techniques to migrate legacy systems into Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA). The proposal explores how querying and transformation techniques on TGraphs enable the integration of legacy assets into a new SOA. The presented graph-based approach is applied to the identification and migration of services in an open source Java software system.
متن کاملTowards Applying Model-Transformations and -Queries for SOA-Migration
In today’s businesses, a lot of monolithic legacy systems exist. In order to allow for a higher flexibility and a better alignment to the ever-changing business processes, migration to service-oriented architectures is often intended. In most cases, this is done by wrapping the legacy system with an additional layer providing functionality as services. But this approach does not result in more ...
متن کاملExtending SOMA for Model-Driven Software Migration into SOA
This paper proposes model-driven techniques to extend IBM’s SOMA method towards migrating legacy systems into Service Oriented Architectures (SOA). The proposal explores how graph-based querying and transformation techniques enable the integration of legacy assets into the new architecture.
متن کاملAn MDD annotation methodology for Semantic Enhanced Service Oriented Architectures
Service Oriented Architectures are increasingly being used to achieve interoperability among heterogeneous systems. SOAs help developers to integrate different architectures in order to reuse legacy systems and extend software boundaries. Semantics could improve SOA features adding a common understanding of the resources shared among different systems. Model Driven Development could be useful t...
